My FAVORITE Birthday Girl
My favorite little girl in the whole wide world turned 1 year old this weekend… Matt and Brian had a birthday party for Audrey today and I got to go… They cooked an AMAZING spread and a whole bunch of folks showed up to celebrate… My mom even came out to join us along with her brand new little yellow lab puppy.. Pictures are here… :):)
Intelligent Spaghetti Monster
I love it when the two biggest Jack Asses in the free world start disagreeing… It brings a smile to my face… I just read this this morning:
Leading Republican differs with Bush on evolution
By Jon Hurdle
PHILADELPHIA (Reuters) – A leading Republican senator allied with the religious right differed on Thursday with President Bush’s support for teaching an alternative to the theory of evolution known as “intelligent design.”
…
Granted it does scare me more than a little when I find myself partially agreeing with Rick Santorum. But still makes me giggle. I have my own opinions on evolution versus other ‘options’ however I think the theory my buddy Andrew passed along to me is currently my favorite:
OPEN LETTER TO KANSAS SCHOOL BOARD
I am writing you with much concern after having read of your hearing to decide whether the alternative theory of Intelligent Design should be taught along with the theory of Evolution. I think we can all agree that it is important for students to hear multiple viewpoints so they can choose for themselves the theory that makes the most sense to them. I am concerned, however, that students will only hear one theory of Intelligent Design. Let us remember that there are multiple theories of Intelligent Design. I and many others around the world are of the strong belief that the universe was created by a Flying Spaghetti Monster. It was He who created all that we see and all that we feel. We feel strongly that the overwhelming scientific evidence pointing towards evolutionary processes is nothing but a coincidence, put in place by Him.
Draw your own conclusions… :):)
Happy Friday
Rent
I hate to say it but i’m really excited to see this when it comes out… In general I’m not a big fan of musicals turned into Movies but I really love this show and the music from it… Hope they did a good job.. I like the trailer at least! 🙂
Novocain
MAN I hate Novocain… Just got back from the dentist and they numbed the whole top of my mouth. Now I feel like I got boxed in the face so I’m hiding in my office waiting for it to wear off
Shoot me now
Another Crazy weekend
Had a FANTASTIC weekend this weekend though I gotta say it made for a miserable work day yesterday.. I did go to work though – I”ve got this really bizzare personal standard of mine that I won’t call in sick because of things I did to myself. Instead I just kinda suck it up and deal – and yesterday I was just super tired..
Anyway.. Friday night I went for beers at the Pilsner with Jason and Kevin and then Brian came to get me and the two of us went to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (which was pretty good though I think I liked the plot of the original one much better – made more sense).
Saturday during the day was spent being pretty damn lazy.. hung around the house. Got my hair cut. Recovered the data from the hard drive on my powerbook that died.. That kind of thing… Saturday night we went with Matt and Brian to the San Francisco HRC dinner which was FANTASTIC. Kamala Harris gave an excellent speech at a moments notice, Alan Cumming one an award and gave a fantastic speech, William H. Macy gave Felicity Huffman an award for her work in Transamerica (which looks to be a VERY good movie coming out this year), and to top it off we got some good loot at the silent auction. I ALWAYS walk away from those things feeling inspired and wanting to get more involved – the HRC is a great organization and I highly recommend checking them out and giving them your support..
Then Sunday was Dore Alley Street Fair. There is something about that fair that I just love and this year was no different. Kevin, Matt, Jason, and I spent the day out the sun drinking beers and people watching. Even if you’re not into t hat whole scene I still recommend checking it out. Its definitely a little much but the people watching is fun, the people are really cool, and the weather is almost always amazing. We started off with brunch and then went to the Pilsner to shoot a round of pool while we waited for Jamie and some of his friends. We then hit the fair for a few hours (ok – like 4 or 5 hours) and then we went to the SF Eagle for sunday beer bust. By that point I’d had a few beers to many and Kevin and I went back and ate greasy Chinese food (which we’re both STILL regretting) and passed out…
I’ve posted the pictures from from dore. The pix aren’t of anything bad but not really good for work day browsing either – its my personal site after all.. why censor! 🙂
All in all a great weekend – very San Francisco weekend
Now back t o work… Later folks! 🙂
