Audrey on a tuffit

I had a fantastic weekend but I think the absolute best thing about the weekend was getting to spend the weekend babysitting little Audrey. Matt and Brian spent the weekend at a seminar (or whatever they call it – you’ll have to ask them) and left Audrey with us. It was so much fun though DAMN – its a lot of work… She is an absolute angel to watch but at her age you really can’t ever take your eyes off of her. She was exploring EVERYWHER and she insisted on darting for our stairs every time I looked away.. But we had the best time..

We went to breakfast, we played at home, took a nap, went out to lunch, went to the park.. It was a great day – and she really was just as cute as this all day. And, a note to Daddy and Poppa – Blank CD spools are the BEST toys EVER…

Muni on the Freeway

Just getting a bunch of pictures off of my camera and I ran across this one… For those who weren’t aware – my daily commute is a 46 mile drive from San Francisco to Cupertino where Apple’s offices are … The drive down 280 is absolutely beautiful but after doing it for years you do start looking for new and interesting things to distract you.. This is my favorite – a couple of times recently i’ve seen a MUNI train rolling down the freeway.. Makes me giggle every time.. I had NO IDEA I could take Muni to work! 😉 🙂

My Weekend of Construction

Just signed up for ‘flickr’ since that seems to be all the rage these days… One of the things it seems to be able to do is post to my blog – not sure what that’ll look like so i’m givin it a go..

As to what this is – This is the result of my construction project with Matt on Saturday… I showed up at noon on Saturday to help him build a playset for Audrey.. What I showed up to find was a pile of lumber and plastic and a big bag of screws and bolts … nothing that even slightly resembled a jungle gym… But after 5 hours and a trip to the hardware store this is what we were left with.. Very cool… You can check out Matt’s blog for more details! 🙂

He’s BACK! :)

Well – Kevin made it back from Burning Man intact and it seems like he had a lot of fun. He’s been raving about it for days now… the deep blue skys at sunrise.. The people… the music… And seems all the pictures from everywhere bear that out.. I still haven’t decided if I’d have fun but sounds like its worth at least checking out huh? Anyway… Here are a bunch of pictures that other folks took (he didn’t take any himself that butt head :):) )

Intelligent Spaghetti Monster

I love it when the two biggest Jack Asses in the free world start disagreeing… It brings a smile to my face… I just read this this morning:

Leading Republican differs with Bush on evolution

By Jon Hurdle

PHILADELPHIA (Reuters) – A leading Republican senator allied with the religious right differed on Thursday with President Bush’s support for teaching an alternative to the theory of evolution known as “intelligent design.”

Granted it does scare me more than a little when I find myself partially agreeing with Rick Santorum. But still makes me giggle. I have my own opinions on evolution versus other ‘options’ however I think the theory my buddy Andrew passed along to me is currently my favorite:

OPEN LETTER TO KANSAS SCHOOL BOARD

I am writing you with much concern after having read of your hearing to decide whether the alternative theory of Intelligent Design should be taught along with the theory of Evolution. I think we can all agree that it is important for students to hear multiple viewpoints so they can choose for themselves the theory that makes the most sense to them. I am concerned, however, that students will only hear one theory of Intelligent Design.

Let us remember that there are multiple theories of Intelligent Design. I and many others around the world are of the strong belief that the universe was created by a Flying Spaghetti Monster. It was He who created all that we see and all that we feel. We feel strongly that the overwhelming scientific evidence pointing towards evolutionary processes is nothing but a coincidence, put in place by Him.

Draw your own conclusions… :):)
