And the award for the ‘For Christ Sake – Don’t you have ANYTHING BETTER to do with your time’ award goes to Mark McGowan:
LONDON (Reuters) – A British man who has been nudging a monkey nut along the streets of London with his nose for 11 days finally reached the seat of power on Friday.

JUST as I suspected
Not that this is ANY surprise… But it sure is good to see that someone has statistical evidence to back it up… My favorite quote is this:
“One woman had to be rushed to the hospital after her assistant shredded important company tax documents instead of copying them. A man told us he collapsed right at his desk because the woman at the next cubicle kept asking him for correction fluid — for her computer monitor.
My boys are 2 and 0
Colorado one again – this time against UCLA – 16 to 14. MAN I would have loved to have seen it! 😉
The Buffaloes (2-0) trailed 14-10 with five minutes remaining before marching 63 yards in 11 plays for the winning score.

Was just doing some maintenance this morning and glanced at my referral logs and discovered I’m gettting hits directed from here:
Internet giants catch on to blogs Major portals provide services for online journals
I got a call from the reporter that wrote the story last week. Seems he stumbled over here after digging around on Globe of Blogs. Talked to him for a little while – very nice guy. He was in the middle of writing an article on blogging and trying to figure out what kinds of things inspired people to do this and how the big corporate blog dabblings will effect those of us doing this already. How he stumbled here out of all of the various sites listed on GOB I have no idea.
Do find it funny that he chose that one quote out of the whole conversation to post.. For the record I write here for all sorts of reasons – more than just to see what will draw discussion – for personal reasons, for political reasons, to practice my writing, and just cuz I’m feelin silly. But I definitely do enjoy seeing what kind of things I post and others post that spark discussions where other topics don’t.
Anyway… Silly monday morning stuff! 😉
Dance Music Origins
On the way to work the other day I was listening to Dance Mix CD # 847 (Actually think it was called “Circuit ’99” or something like that – but who can keep track) and was wishing I could find the original version of a couple of the songs.. There are a LOT of really cool dance mixes That are actually re-mixes of old cool songs. So this afternoon I dove into my CD collection and started ripping old CDs to put together a Remix Origins CD… Kind a fun and stupid.. This is what I’ve found so far:
- If You Could Read My Mind
- Original: Gordon Lightfoot
- Remix: Stars On 54: Ultra Naté, Amber & Jocelyn Enriquez
- What a Fool Believes
- Original: The Doobie Brothers
- Remix: Peter Cox
- Blue Monday
- Original: New Order
- Remix: Orgy
- California Dreamin’
- Original: The Mama’s and the Poppas
- Remix: High Jinkx
- American Pie
- Original: Don McLean
- Remix: Madonna
- Don’t Cry for me Argentina
- Original: Rogers and Hammerstein
- Remix: Madonna
There are others I like too – like a remix I heard of ‘Swingtown’ by The Steve Miller Band but the DJs mix them for parties and won’t give them out cuz they don’t have rights to them… I heard a mix of a song from the Lion King a few years back at the white party that was FLIPPIN AMAZING but the DJ won’t distribute it cuz Disney would kick his butt (I asked)…
Anyway… Guess being a music junkey and a geek leads to strange exercises like this. Kevin thinks i’m nuts.. But i’m keeping my eyes out for more. If you have any recommendations let me know! 🙂
