More fun tools

He just pointed me at a couple of fun tools that I had to share:

– HyperEdit: A simple live HTML editor that allows you to edit HTML with style sheets and even PHP and watch the effects on your page as you edit… It does a rather poor job of syntax coloring (I prefer BBEdit for that) but it is pretty useful for layout and such (which I was futzing with last night.

– Kung-Log: A pretty cool tool for editing MT blogs on Mac OS X. Pretty snazzy Mac OS X like interace for doign basing pposting on my blog… I’ve had a number of crashes with it lately so i’m not 100% sold on it but I sure would like an easier way to do a quick post than navigating the web interface. I’m still wrestling with thins one though – can’t really recommend it as much as point it out (and ask if anyone has found alternatives)

Search Terms

Since I’ve switched to the new domain I’ve been watching search terms and referrers to see if the folks that found the old location have found the new ones.. I’ve also been watching what google search terms are leading folks here… Funny part is there seems to be one thing that is getting folks from google here:

Hmmm… Guess there are a lot of folks out there that want to see what happened at Dore…

Blog sillyness

I added one more bit on here today… Have to see if anyone can figure out what it was… 😉

LORD I’m a dork…

Got home from a party a little wile ago and started futzing with my blog and now its an hour later and I REALLY should be in bed…

BUT..

I got collapsable sections working so I could clean things up a bit.. Still need to look at the interface some to make how it works a little more obvious… but if you look at the right and left columns you’ll see a little plus (+) next to section headers – if you click on them you can expand them to see their content…

I’m just trying to clean things up so everything is much more crisp and clean… Was getting too busy and it was irritating..

Thanks to Scriptygoddess and Nunsense for the pointers I needed to get this stuff working! :):)

Such a Geek

So I’ve spent the day being a total geek… I’ve added MTMacros to my blog and used those to add smileys like 🙂 and :* to my blog ( thanks to Lisa )… I also added comment preview code… Seems silly i suppose but its a good way to learn how this stuff works! 😉

Ping woes

I FINALLY figured out why MT was having trouble pinging when I saved an entry.. Turns out weblogs.com is WAY overloaded and was almost always failing (and thus failing any pings behind it)… Since I’m pinging folks largely to get folks blogrolls I just switched to pinging blogrolling directly… So the solution was just to quit pinging weblogs.com and just ping ping.blo.gs and http://rpc.blogrolling.com/pinger/ – now it seems to work..
