Giggles
Dude.. where’s my kitchen
YOW… Walked in the door and my kitchen was gone.. not torn up… GONE… They managed to rip the entire kitchen down to the studs in one afternoon… All thats left is a pile of crap in the living room and bare studs.. its crazy.. and exciting.. This shot is of the nasty flooring that was under the fridge, the purple counter tops, and the green cupboards… Now NONE of it is there.. just bare walls..
SO DAMN COOL!.. Can’t wait to see them do that to the bathroom.. granted then we won’t be able to stay here … Guess this is the last night using the old facilities…
WOO HOO
Another Busy Weekend
Had another crazy busy weekend but was a lot of fun… Friday night was dinner with Randy and Rick at Woodward’s Garden. Food was very good though service was a little bit slow.. I’d go again though! 🙂
Then Saturday night was the San Francisco HRC yearly dinner. Russ Feingold as well as Phil Angelides and some others… I always enjoy that dinner and we had a lot of fun.. Matt arranged to be a table captain so we were there with He, Brian, Rita, a friend of Rita’s, Andrew, and Andrew’s new beau.. Was fun.
Then there was Sunday… Dore Alley Street Fair… Oh my dear lord… Fair was damn fun. REALLY Crowded this year – seems to get more and more crowded every year. And definitely a little more.. er.. um.. interesting than years past… I’ll leave it at that.. We hung out with Rick and Randy and a bunch of others for a while before running into another friend we met a few weeks ago. Finished the fair off then went to the ‘stro for beers at the Mix then Moby’s and some Pizza… Overall actually very well behaved but kind of exhausting..
Anyway – fun weekend. Now back to work! Wee ha..
Birthday with the munchkins! :)
So the b-day weekend didn’t end after Supperclub… Turns out kevin actually invited folks over Saturday afternoon for a bbq. He spent the morning working like a dog and cooking up a storm and then a group of folks including a handful of rug-rats (among them our God-daughter Audrey) came over to hang out for my B-day.. Afternoon was GORGEOUS and it was a lot of fun hanging out…
That evening we went to Mecca for dinner with our friends Rick and Randy and Heath and Mini (two new friends from our dive trip) and their friend CJ. Dinner was great and then we headed out for drinks at Martuni’s and the Cafe (don’t ask! ;))
Then sunday – well morning was mellow and then we went to the Eagle for the beer bust…
Uggg.. Fun but i’m exhausted just thinking about it! :):)
Birthday at Supperclub
Last Friday was my birthday and Kevin outdid himself on this one – the whole weekend was jam packed but my birthday night itself was great.. It started off with a really cool little birthday gathering at work. In the 15 years i’ve been at Apple I think this is the first time anything had been done for my Birthday – was so sweet.. Everyone surprised me in a meeting room with birthday cake.. Really sweet! 🙂 I felt bad cuz unfortunately my day wasn’t done so I had to duck out sooner than I wanted to..
But then that night Kevin and I went out for dinner together for a birthday dinner at a place called Supperclub in San Francisco. If you haven’t been there I highly recommend it.. Its a 4 hour event where you sit on big beds with pillows and they serve you a 5 course meal and entertain you with performance art, massages, tarot card readings and all sorts of fun stuff… Kevin was all worried that I’d be bummed spending my birthday night with just him but it was a whole lot of fun! 🙂
Kick her in the belly Jack..
For those of you looking for something to do in San Francisco over the next week or two – go see Leslie Jordan in ‘Like a Dog on Linoleum‘… He is the guy that played Karen’s arch nemesis on Will and Grace and was Brother Boy in Sordid Lives (which you NEED to see if you haven’t). A bunch of us went to see it last Friday and it was HYSTERICAL – I could barely breathe a few times I was laughing so hard.
Nuff said.. go see it..
(and you won’t get the subject line unless you see the show)
A crazy weekend with Kayla
This past weekend Kevin’s niece was in town from North Carolina. She just graduated from high school and this was her first trip anywhere on an Airplane. Kevin was REALLY worried about making sure that she had a great time and experienced a lot of San Francisco – and BOY did she.. Kevin spent a TON of time taking her all over the city… Here’s the basics:
- Thursday: China Basin, Hills Brother’s Building, Marin Headlands for sunset
- Friday: Union Square, Embarcaderro, Market Street, China Town, Dinner with Matt and Audrey (I was around for dinner)
- Saturday (I was here for all this): Golden Gate Bridge, Muir Woods, Stinson Beach, Buffalos in GG Park, Japanese Tea Garden, Modern Dance show at Yerba Buena Center
- Sunday: Boat Tour of the Bay, Brunch at the Buena Vista with Matt, Brian and Audrey for Father’s Day, Fisherman’s Warf, Japan Town, and then Madama Butterfly at the War Memorial Opera House
- Monday:Treasure Island, Lombard Street, China Town again, Dinner at Walzwerk
- Tuesday: DeYoung Museaum, Haight Street, the Mission, the Castro, and then dinner at Lime followed by Gelatto in the Castro
Hows that for an exhausting weekend… Unfortunately I could only do the Saturday and Sunday stuuff because of work.. But was still a LOT of fun.. If you’re interested, the pictures are on Flickr or up on my .mac account
