Ok.. I know its been a few days (weeks?) since i’ve checked in… No excuses just stuff…

So lets see – whats been going on? Well… Kevin’s back… yup – I got a call while I was in vegas from him asking when my flight got in to SFO from Vegas… Couldn’t figure out why he cared until I he told me he had timed out on Buenos Aires and was coming home.. Not entirely surprised – he was acting a little like he was done with the traveling when he came back the first time so I figured he might not last the full two months.. Which is fine by me – its definitely nice to have him home..

So that was 2 weeks ago tomorrow (the 19th)… That Saturday Alex and I had planned to have some folks over for Alex’s famous Fajitas so Kevin got to join in for the fun.. It was actually really fun.. We had about 10 people over to hang out and eat.. Alex did all the cooking and I got to be his sous-chef and the rest got to hang out and be social… Was very cool – pictures are here in case you’re interested..

Then there was a week of work… wee ha..

Then last weekend we decided to be TOTALLY MELLOW… Friday night was movie night… Saturday was brunch with Tom and Garrett, some exploring in Hayes Valley (thus the picture to the left), and then a really good dinner at Matt and Brian’s.. Then sunday was chores..

wow.. when did I become so boring? 🙂 Guess i’ll have to make up for it this weekend… Or maybe I’ll just hold out till we go scuba diving in the caymans in a week and a half! :):)

I’m EXHAUSTED

Uggg… SUCH a long week… On Saturday I flew to Las Vegas for NAB and i’m just now leaving – and not a minute too soon… The show was outstanding – we announced a bunch of new products. A new version of Final Cut Studio including new versions of Final Cut Pro, Cinema Tools, Motion, Soundtrack Pro, DVD Studio Pro as well as launching 2 new products – Color and FInal Cut Server…. And everything went off very well – i’m always amazed at the things that people are into… But at any rate – all very good..

But then there’s Vegas… I HATE Vegas… I hate it in just about every way. The Casinos make me crazy.. The waste makes me nuts.. I long for natural light and quiet. The wierd part is I had a fine time. Hung out with co-workers, had LOTS of good food (which was VERY Expensive), and probably had a little too much to drink. But I’m SO Ready to go home.. And the funny thing is that i’m sitting in the airport from hell where it took me a good 40 or 45 minutes to just get through security.. Guess they want you to remember the good things..

Anyway – I can’t WAIT to get home… sleep in my own bed.. Sit in silence..

nuff ranting… i’m logging out and gonna read a book! 🙂

A busy boy

Uggg.. Just realized I haven’t written on here in a really long time… No good excuses – just been busy and distracted… Lots of shit going on at work that is twisting my brain. Of course I can’t really go into that here – ya know – Apple secret shit.. But I’m enjoying it in a big way…

Aside from that keeping myself busy with random social stuff.. Last weekend felt really busy for some reason even though it was just the evenings that were busy. Friday night I went out with Rick and Randy to the Powerhouse… Saturday was chore day and then Saturday night was a couple of parties. First was the one in the picture – Scott Yeats’ birthday party. He came up from LA for the weekend and a bunch of us got together at Pauline’s Pizza.. Then was Randy’s birthday party so Drew and I beat it over to their house for the later part of the evening.. Sunday was pretty mellow for the most part before watching the season finale of Battlestar Galactica (which was cool but now its not going to be on again until January 2008 – whats up with THAT?)

This week was all work for the most part.. My buddy Craig is in town from NYC for the week for a trade show so I had dinner with him, John, and Tommy Tuesday night then again at Delfina Last night…

Guess thats it for now – i’ll post more later but I need to do my taxes now.. Ugggg…

This is well worth a listen. While she does hedge around a few things (which isn’t surprising) MAN does she say the right thing on a LOT of stuff. Ending Don’t ask Don’t Tell, Addoption, DP Benefits. All I can say is I REALLY hope this nation can look beyond gender and race to pick the right person for the job in 2008

So I get this call yesterday afternoon from Kevin… asking me whether we had a copy of some magazine (V I think).. Call was from his US cell phone… He hadn’t used that cell phone in a few months (since the phone bill of doom… don’t ask..).. Anyway… Odd…

So I’m driving home from work late after feeding the troops and try to give him a call… Call the phone in Guatemala… won’t connect … Odd but not super surprising (I think there are 3 lines into guatemala from the US and they’re frequently busy)…. So I try his US phone for kicks.. rings… US ring tone…. (Not the ‘Beeep’ but rather the ‘Brrrriinnngggg’ tone)… Hmmm… Thats VERY odd… but no answer

Maybe.. no… Maybe… Is he back in the US… Lets try text message… Hmm.. No answer… Fishey… Maybe he’s home… So I step on it…

Get home… lights are the way I left them… house is dark… Hiding?

*sigh*… nope.. not home… Sad… Must be overly paranoid… Sit on the couch and watch Law and Order…

Phone Rings… Kevin’s phone.. Kevin’s US phone… “Where are you?”… “You’ll never guess”… “In San Francisco?”… “I’m in a cab 10 minutes from home – how’d you know”… “I’m clever that way”…

hehe…

So he’s home.. 2 days early… Place was a mess (I was expecting to have 2 nights to tidy up)… But still… Nice… So he’s around till next thursday… hehehe.. Yay
