Tennis ball meltdown
Uggg… So yesterday was probably the closest i’ve ever come to just melting down into a puddle of jell-o underneath my desk. This week has been a SERIOUSLY rough one from all perspectives and its only Wednesday. I had what felt like a hundred different things going on at work all on the same day ranging from things I needed to work on with employees to customer drama to scheduling drama to you name it. In the middle of all of that I got a phone call from my Dad regarding my Grandma S who isn’t doing so well saying that she was about to go into surgery. All that combined with some other stuff that was lingering in my brain from before the day began all added up to a whole lot of stress all rolled up into one big ball.. I kinda felt like I was standing in front of a tennis ball pitching machine without a racquet. I REALLY have to learn how to stop, take a deep breath, and just take things one at a time – unfortunately my job and my life doesn’t allow that – I just have to do my best to keep all of the plates spinning and, if one has to fall, make sure its not the expensive one..
Anyway.. sorry… just had to vent and this seemed like a good place to do it… things are more under control today… still lots going on but at least my head isn’t about to explode! :):)
More to come!
City of San Francisco is a PAIN IN THE ASS
So we’re going through this crazy condo conversion – don’t know if I’ve ever mentioned this before or not… Anyway… One of the parts of the process is having inspectors come in, inspecting the house, giving you a laundry list of things they want you to fix, and then proving you’ve got that all done.. Well we did that.. For the last 6 months or so we’ve been dealing with getting all the pidly shit changes they wanted fixed done… It has been a royal pain in the ass dealing with this all… But Saturday we got the ‘Certificate of Final Completion and Occupancy’ for the work.. I”m thinking ‘whew… the long part of the process is FINALLY done’… So I call our lawyer thinking I can just send this off to him and that will move the process along.. Well, it turns out, the city STILL hasn’t even gotten to the point where they need it – after a year and a half… And.. What’s worse is that my lawyer tells me that the next stage is for the city to ‘request mylars’ and THAT is the half way point… FUCK… so we could have another year and a half of waiting – just cuz the city is too backlogged to do what they’re supposed to do..
MAN… the longer ya live in this city the more ya realize how much it can REALLY SUCK some times..
Anyway.. Sorry for the rant..
Happy Friday… :):)
Yes… I’m alive
And we’re back from Tahiti and back to reality.. I’m uploading the pictures as we speak and I’ll write more once they’re up there..
oh.. yea… and on a work related topic – did y’all catch this? CRAZY huh? If ya ask me its gonna be a good thing! 🙂
Anyway.. more to come! 🙂
Pete out!
By the way
Did I mention we’re going here (staying here) and here (staying here) on vacation in a couple of weeks? Learning to Scuba Dive and i’m going to learn how to relax a little bit… I’m so excited I can’t even tell ya…
CRAZY
Believe it or not I haven’t actually forgotten about my blog (all evidence to the contrary) but life has been crazy busy lately and when its busy with work and relationship stuff I can’t really talk about it on here – thus the silence…. sorry bout that..
Pretty much the only news I’ve had aside from stuff I can’t talk about was Easter. Kevin and I went up to Sacramento to my parent’s place and brought Matt, Brian, Audrey, and Kevin’s friend Amanda to spend the weekend.. It was really nice to get away. My mom’s new place has a pool, hot tub, trampoline (seriously), and a theater with a HD projector. Matt and Brian posted pictures here.
Rick’s Day
This weekend has been kind of odd / rough / busy / fun / crazy… Friday night Kevin and I had dinner with Matt and Brian and two of Kevin’s friends from Atlanta at a nice French (La Suite) restaurant in South Beach. Nice if you like french food that is – if you don’t like french food don’t go (Matt had Bone Marrow as an appetizer for example).. Dinner was nice though pricey and I was in a bit of a mood cuz of a frantic week… After dinner we all went to the Powerhouse only to find that Michael Brandon was doing some sort of auction at the bar and Kevin walked away with a Gift basket and DVD (imagine what kind of both) ;)… After about a half hour or so I was done but Kevin and the rest stayed to go on to the Endup. Late night for most but not so much for me..
Saturday was largely work with a break to go climbing again which was nice (though DAMN I’m sore today – this time we went climbing and also lifted weights)…
Saturday night we went out for dinner with Randy and Rick at Ozumo which was Really nice.. I’d never been to the restaurant.. The sushi was fantastic, location was right on the bay, and atmosphere was great. Oh.. and the company wasn’t too shabby either – we don’t see those guys very often unfortunately (aside from passing Randy at work which doesn’t really count as quality time).
And.. at dinner Rock informed me that I don’t update my blog enough and recommended that I dedicate days to folks.. So in honor of him today will be Rick’s on SwimFinsSF! 😉
And today.. Well today I’m in Cupertino working… Wee fun… 😉
Happy Sunday
