Lucky
Sometimes I take for granted how lucky I am having the family I do… Other times I recognize exactly how lucky I am..
Yesterday was Mother’s day and Kevin and I spent it with my mom and Webb and had a great time.. One of those San Francisco days.. Woke up and cleaned the house (not quite well enough i found out from kevin later – but thats OK).. Then walked down and got coffee, flowers, and a card… Then hung out waiting for Kevin to finish rowing and Mom and Webb to finish coffee and bagels in Los Gatos…
They all got done and to our place at about the same time.. Hung out and chatted for a little bit and then went to the Metro Cafe for brunch (no – not that silly bar in the castro – a cute little french restaurant on Div)… Outside brunch… good food… great little patio.. I HIGHLY recommend it on a sunny afternoon…
After that we went to the Legion of Honor to see the Di Vinci in Poland exhibit which was very cool too… That building is beautiful and in a beauttiful location… The exhibit was OK.. interesting but for a Di Vinci exhibit I was expecting to see more than one painting of his… still cool though…
thats it… nothing spectacular.. but a really great day… and was really neat for kevin and I to spend the day with them like it wasn’t anything out of the ordinary.. My Mom and Kevin spent more time talking at times then she and I did.. He even got her a little pendant which she loved…
Gotta find something fun to do for my dad Dad’s day next! :):)
They’ve GOT to be kidding
Its not April 1st so I really dn’t understand… are they SERIOUS?
Even funnier – the latest earth shattering innovation from MSFT is Athens. The biggest thing I can tell in this announcement is a monitor that has an eMail waiting light and a phone that will mute your music when you answer it… LORD… I know i’m an Apple head so they have to go a long way to impress me.. But PLEASE.. is that REALLY the best they can do these days?
Anyway… Just funny…
More Sillyness
Found another cool tip to get nice titles in your web page using javascript and style sheets… just more sillyness but being the big ol’ geek that I am I had to wire ’em up… Will probably tone down the usage once the novelty wears of but in the mean time its kidna fun! 🙂
(oh yea… just roll your mouse over any link to see ’em… Like this one.)
Weekly Wrap-Up #53 – Birthdays
1. When is your birthday?
July 7, 1970… Made me 7 years old on 7/7/77… Just love that cuz I had nothing to do with it and its totally silly..
2. How accurate is your zodiac sign?
I have no clue… I may very well be the only gay man in existance that doesn’t know a damn thing about ‘my sign’ nor do I care…
3. What do you typically do to celebrate your birthday?
Hang out with friends. My absolute favorite thing to do for my birthday is dinner and time with my friends.. Since my B-day is in the summer a bbq is GREAT… Brings out the social beast..
4. Do you like to receive presents? Why or why not?
Only if they’re silly joke presents… Fact is i’m one of these that buys things I the minute they pop to mind but it can be fun to see how creative (and crude) people can get…
5. Describe the best birthday and/or present you ever had.
2 of them pop to mind. First was in college – I interned in SF every year so I was away from all of my college friends on my birthday every year which REALLY sucked… So one year my friend Christy got everyone together – in Colorado I might add – and threw a big birthday party. One person had a video camera and taped everything.. Then they boxed up the video tape along with all of the party streamers, open gifts, and other party remnants, and mailed ’em to me so I could see the birthday party… Sounds kinda cruel but made me feel special..
The second was my 30th birthday party.. Kevin threw a surprise party for me for my b-day – which generally never works… But he and a bunch of my friends were in on it… Chris brought me out for cocktails in cupertino and stalled and stalled – all the while I talked to kevin who said he and I were going for dinner and then meet people at the end up… i’m thinkin – hmmm.. that sucks.. my 30th birthday and thats it. Dinner at the usual and then MAYBE a drink… Chris drove me home and dropped me off… Walked in the door and saw balloons on the floor and like EVERYONE I KNEW was there.. was SO NICE…
Colors
Ugggg… Sorry kevin, as well coordinated as these colors may be on here, they’re REALLY hard to read…
I’ll fix ’em ASAP.. Can’t let myself do that right now though or I’ll waste the day doing that instead of the job that they pay me to do…
(Ok.. I did lighten the link color – that helps out some… have to sit down with kevin and look at the rest since he’s Mr. Color)
Good tools gone bad
So sun is shining i’ve got my music playing in my office as I try to get some work done… And I get this iChat message from a buddy of mine that I used to work with asking who the Kinsey Sicks are…
Hmmm… Why did he ask that…
Told them they’re a really funny drag a-cappella group… why?
He said “Cuz it shows their name by your name in AIM”….
Ohhh…. I forgot that i was running this silly little program called iChatStatus that sets your AIM message to the song that you’re playing in iTunes… kinda cute and silly… So I look at my status
FUCK….
It says “Kinsey Sicks – Anal Warts”…
THAAAAATTTTSSSS Why he was asking…
Guess I gotta be careful what I listen to or turn off iChatStatus..
Funny part is it has the abilty to show the Song your playing in iTunes, the page you’re browsing in your favorite browser, the application you’re running, or a some other stuff.. I figured the browser page could be dangerous but musich should be fine..
Guess not…
Anyway – made me laugh
