End Homophobia: A CS Perspective

Just had to share this little video. I just found it an interesting perspective on how christianity and homosexuality can mix. Granted Christian Science (the church I was raised going to) is a fairly different breed of church from the others but I found what some of these folks had to say very well put…

For those of you who don’t know, Principia is a school for Christian Scientists…

Anyway, take it for what it is. I just found it and wanted to share.

An Anniversary

Kevin and I will have our 8th anniversary tomorrow and we decided to use yesterday to celebrate. We started off by going to Nickel Spa to get massages and Facials which were WONDERFUL… Then after relaxing at home for a few hours I surprised Kevin with dinner at The Fifth Floor. The Restaurant is buried up in a hotel near Union Square and is AMAZING. We decided to do their ‘Tasting Menu’ with wine pairings and there wasn’t a single course that wasn’t fantastic. There were about 9 courses ranging from a taster soup to start through Foie gras, skate, squab through to beignets for desert. The wines started with champagne and moved to whites and reds of all different types… SOOOOOO GOOD… Little too much wine so by the end I was having to leave wine in the glass so I didn’t fall down – but still good (though kevin did have one that he described as smelling like a combination of whiskey and poppers… don’t ask)…

Overall not a bad way to spend an Anniversary Saturday…

Tammy Faye

Just wishing her safe travels. She did more to show what good Christians should do for the world and what so many have forgotten. She treated everyone with love and respect no matter what and she will be missed!

My birthday was last Saturday… Kevin and my mom did a great job of lining up a little surprise party for me Saturday afternoon.. I knew something was going on saturday cuz Kevin asked me who I might want to hang out with on my b-day but I didn’t know WHAT he had planned.. Turned out he, my mom, and other folks conspired to arrange a Ferry ride up to Tiburon to have lunch in the sun at Sam’s on the water.. It was SO nice to hang out in the sun with everyone… Then that night Kevin and I had dinner with my mom and stepdad…

Very cool.. just what I wanted… YAY…

I found a few interesting things that caught my attention and had to share..

First – an example of where being a greedy be-atch doesn’t pay.. Check this out:

Shopper picks up iPhone AND $800US

Here’s the story. This kid in Texas arrives at his local AT&T store at 6:00 AM on Friday the 29th to buy an iPhone. His effort pays off as he finds himself in 1st place….

Then there is this one – typical O’Reilly Crap:

Fox News’ The O’Reilly Factor Offers Unsubstantiated Claims in “Lesbian Gang Epidemic” Segment

On the June 21 edition of Fox News Channel’s The O’Reilly Factor, Fox News Crime Analyst Rod Wheeler detailed what he called a “national network” of so-called “lesbian gangs” that prey on young girls. Using exaggerated, sensational language, Wheeler claimed there are more than 150 such gangs in the Washington, D.C., area alone.

And then there is this from Omaha:

(Omaha, Nebraska) The daughter of homophobic preacher Fred Phelps has been formally charged with negligent child abuse, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, flag mutilation and disturbing the peace over an anti-gay protest at the funeral of a soldier last month.

We live in a strange strange world – thats all I have to say.. (well not really – but i’m holding back! :))
