SO SWEET
We went to Nathan’s Birthday party today which was SO MUCH FUN… He’s 2 years old and the house was full of little kids of various ages. Patrick had Kevin and Britton make balloon animals for the kids which was a total hit and they were very good at it. Meanwhile I spent most of the time hiding behind Patrick’s super cool SLR Digital camera.. I’m so jealous.. And, to top it off Patrick was super sweet and added my name to the Cake for my birthday this week so I got to help Nathan blow out the candles…
Anyway.. Had to share.. Fun Day
Week of DOOM
uggg… I’ve been pretty out it for a while (thus the lack of posts)… This has been high on my list of shitty weeks.. Weekend was cool – saw Spiderman friday night with Scott, Jeremy, Clarke, and Alex (and some co-workers of Scotts) which was cool.. Movie was really good… Saturday was totally lazy as I recal aside from walking Matt and Brian’s dogs which was all cool… Sunday we spent the day with Alex, Scott, and Jeremy. Early in the day we went to brunch over in Glenn Park and then headed over to Alemeda for a big antiques flea market on the naval base.. was kinda cool but not many ‘finds’ – most of the stuff was either just old stuff or good stuff that the sellers knew was good stuff and priced to match… I didn’t buy anything… Sunday night (the 4th) we all went to Scott’s house to meet some other folks (Clark, Kevin’s friend Jason, and a sweet guy Tom that I hadn’t met) for a BBQ (or cookout as kevin insists is the ‘correct’ term)… We had a good time, drank too much, ate great food, and listened to the battle between the neighbor’s back yard band and scott’s stereo… Overall a nice forth..
except… bout 10pm I started feelin crappy and went home bout 11… what i thought was just too many cocktails turned into a flu that lasted about 3 days which was a drag… Downside was i was at home in bed incapable of doing much more than working the TiVo clicker (and spent my birthday on wed sick in bed)… Up side was i missed some obnoxious meetings at work and ‘Management training’…
Last night we did go see ‘Awe about Eve‘ with Alex, Peter, Scott, Scott and Joe, luke and some others… Play was an uncut rendeition of All about eve… Very silly and fun…
So I guess the week hasn’t been a total wreck… overall I guess pretty good.. but man bein sick for 3 days does wreck it…
Oh… And I was proud of myself for calling the South Bay Inifiniti dealers and bitching about some ad’s they’re running right now which are pretty obnoxious collections of cultural stereotypes… so there’s my political action for the week..
Anyway.. Happy Friday! 🙂
Pride in the City
Oh my LORD… Pride weekend always sneaks up on me… Between all of the tourists in from out of town when I went to get diner last night and the GIANT rainbow protein shaped balloons all over the gym it seems to be that season… I’m not complaining mind you – just makes me giggle.. Especially goin to dinner last night.. I stumbled down to cactus fresh to grab dinner after a long day with some random geek book and it took me a minute to figure out why there were all these cute boys that I didn’t recognize with smiles on their face coming and going from bars I usually avoid.. Then remembered…
Anyway.. Happy Pr ide… Hope to see y’all this weekend! 🙂
Things to do in San Francisco
After spending part of the afternoon today exploring with Kevin I decided to add a section to my blog for ‘Things to do in San Francisco’. Every so often I spend the weekend or evenings doing things in the city that I’ve never done and figured I’d share…
So the recommendation for today involves a walk from the Castro up to the Randall Museum. This afternoon kevin and I walked up from our house to Courtney’s where we grabbed a couple of their handmade sandwiches, salads, and fresh squeezed juice. Courtney’s has to be one of the best kept secrets in the city – its a small privately run place where they squeeze their own juices from carrots, oranges, cherries, grapefruits, and all sorts of other things. They also make their own sandwiches, chips, salads and other stuff..
From there we went on a slow walk up Roosevelt street toward Corona Heights Park above the Randall Museum. Along the way we looked at the houses and the view. When we got to the park we hiked up to the top of the hill where the rocks are that overlooks the city. The views from there are AMAZING – you can see all the way from the Golden Gate Park Panhandle to Daly City. We parked ourselves up on a rock and ate our lunch and watched the view.
After we ate we hiked down to the Museum to check that out. The Museum is really a kids museum but I enjoyed it. They had lots of animals to check out – snakes, owls, turles, rabbits, frogs.. you name it.. The museum also had activities and lots of other stuff for kids..
At any rate.. made for a nice afternoon and something I’d never done … Worth checking out..
Reviews
Ok… So two reviews to give for the week:
Madonna: Frickin FIERCE… We had SO much fun at the show and the show it self was fantastic. Kevin, Peter, Alex, and Mikey drove down from the city after work and picked me up to go to the show down at the San Jose Sharks Pavilion (HP Pavilion). She opened with Vogue and played for 2 hours or so after that with everything from American Life to Express yourself to Music to you name it… The crowd was a trip – the biggest collection of gay men, middle aged girls flashin back to high school and everythign in between.. At any rate… show was good – fun was had by all! :):)
Stepford Wives: We went to see The Stepford Wives last night with Matt and Brian and Brian’s Dad, Patrick and Chuck, and Britton. I actually liked the movie however if you’re a fan of the original (which is GREAT) and don’t want them to mess with it skip the movie… Its good but its pretty silly and the change it in some important ways. But regardless it was fun – not gonna win any awards but still good.
Wow.. Those are two pretty damn gay outings.. huh? 🙂 Ah well.
