Indian Summer

Sunday, October 2nd, 2005 | San Francisco | Comments Off on Indian Summer

For those of you who’ve never been to San Francisco in October – you NEED TO COME… The weather here is very odd – for the better part of the summer it is cold and foggy due to some strange weather caused by the city being planted directly between the Pacific ocean and the San Francisco bay.. But come September and October we get the most amazingly warm and gorgeous weather… The skies are this amazing blue, the air is fresh and clean… its really unreal… and today is no exception… I woke up to the sun streaming in the den and now i’m looking out my office window at this scene

I’m only gonna be here about 15 minutes more before we go meet Drew and Adrian for Brunch and then head down to the castro street fair… But I just had to share first..

Piece of Shit

Not that I’m surprised, but I’m still pissed… Turns out that weasel of a Governor of ours has vetoed the gay marriage bill placed on his desk. It turns out basic civil rights aren’t a priority in our state any more than they are in our federal government… *sigh*… Perhaps its time to move to Germany after all…

Not that he had much of a chance anyway – but he sure ain’t getting a vote from me come election time (or a movie ticket dollar when they kick his sorry ass out of Sacramento)…

Cat’s in the Cradle

On the way into work I was listening to my favorite CD full of songs I liked from when I was a kid. Songs like ‘House at Pooh Corner‘ by Kenny Logins, ‘Cat’s in the Cradle‘ by Harry Chapin, and a bunch of others of that ilk. I just love those songs – they’re great to sing along with and have so many memories for me.

Cat’s in the Cradle in particular is one of those ones that has such strong happy memories for me from my childhood and lots of people don’t get it. Kevin cringes every time he hears it cuz it strikes him as such a sad song about a neglectful father and son who just can’t seem to make any time for each other… Maybe i’m just a wierdo but I just don’t read it that way. I just see it as a song about a father and son that are connected from birth until death and, despite everything that goes on throughout life they still love each other and are connected no matter how busy they get or whats going on and get a lot out of every chance they have to talk…

Wow… How was that for sappy… Anyway… just had to share! :)… Read blelow

A good weekend

Monday, September 26th, 2005 | Pete Stuff | 1 Comment

So the weekend turned out to be a really nice one… Friday night I went out with Brian to go see Corpse Bride (good movie if you’re into Tim Burton movies – but if you’re not ya might not like it)… When I got home after that Kevin was at home with a buddy of his from School (Skip) and they dragged me out to the Power House (which was CRAZY busy cuz of Folsom weekend)…

Saturday, as I mentioned before, I spent the day building a jungle gym with Matt which was all sorts of fun (I”m being serious – doesn’t sound fun I suppose but I enjoyed it)… Kevin ended up going to the San Francisco Love Parade but I decided to bail – didn’t think I could take two days of street fairs and I really wanted to hit folsom… After our day of construction I hung out with M&B and ate pizza and watched ‘The Truth about Cats and Dogs‘ after which Matt and I ended up grabbing our friend Jamie and going out…

Sunday was Folsom Street Fair and, as usual, I had a great time… I went down there about 2:30 with Jamie and stayed until they kicked us out at 6 at which point Jamie and I went to the Endup for a little while… Was a lot of fun – lots of folks out and AMAZING weather… Didn’t take any pictures this year though MAN I wish I had! :):) :P…Kevin bailed – doesn’t really like it and he fried himself at the love parade and going out saturday.

Anyway.. that was the weekend.. just had to share! 🙂

Now back to work

I’m SO looking forward to this weekend… Partially just cuz I REALLY need a break from reality and partially cuz there is a lot going on in town. Lookin like this guy is gonna be headin to town – hopin to catch up with him at some point… Also talked to this guy about helping him set up a jungle gym for the kiddo… On top of that Randy and Rick tell me there is some sort of Love Parade tomorrow worth checking out.. And then Sunday is the Folsom Street Fair which I wouldn’t miss… between all that i’m sure there will be some rest and some play… regardless i’m looking forward to it all.. 🙂

Woo hoo….

Now back to work… 🙂

I just found out about Ryan’s death this morning. Even though we haven’t spoken in quite some time his amazingly positive disposition and glow will definitely be missed!
