Kick her in the belly Jack..
For those of you looking for something to do in San Francisco over the next week or two – go see Leslie Jordan in ‘Like a Dog on Linoleum‘… He is the guy that played Karen’s arch nemesis on Will and Grace and was Brother Boy in Sordid Lives (which you NEED to see if you haven’t). A bunch of us went to see it last Friday and it was HYSTERICAL – I could barely breathe a few times I was laughing so hard.
Nuff said.. go see it..
(and you won’t get the subject line unless you see the show)
A crazy weekend with Kayla
This past weekend Kevin’s niece was in town from North Carolina. She just graduated from high school and this was her first trip anywhere on an Airplane. Kevin was REALLY worried about making sure that she had a great time and experienced a lot of San Francisco – and BOY did she.. Kevin spent a TON of time taking her all over the city… Here’s the basics:
- Thursday: China Basin, Hills Brother’s Building, Marin Headlands for sunset
- Friday: Union Square, Embarcaderro, Market Street, China Town, Dinner with Matt and Audrey (I was around for dinner)
- Saturday (I was here for all this): Golden Gate Bridge, Muir Woods, Stinson Beach, Buffalos in GG Park, Japanese Tea Garden, Modern Dance show at Yerba Buena Center
- Sunday: Boat Tour of the Bay, Brunch at the Buena Vista with Matt, Brian and Audrey for Father’s Day, Fisherman’s Warf, Japan Town, and then Madama Butterfly at the War Memorial Opera House
- Monday:Treasure Island, Lombard Street, China Town again, Dinner at Walzwerk
- Tuesday: DeYoung Museaum, Haight Street, the Mission, the Castro, and then dinner at Lime followed by Gelatto in the Castro
Hows that for an exhausting weekend… Unfortunately I could only do the Saturday and Sunday stuuff because of work.. But was still a LOT of fun.. If you’re interested, the pictures are on Flickr or up on my .mac account

Supporters Lose in Gay Marriage Ban Vote
By LAURIE KELLMAN, Associated Press Writer
Wednesday, June 7, 2006(06-07) 08:57 PDT WASHINGTON, (AP) —
The Senate on Wednesday rejected a constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage, dealing an embarrassing defeat to President Bush and Republicans who hoped to use the measure to energize conservative voters on Election Day.
Seems Mr. Bush has lost two more votes since the last time they tried this – and both Republicans.. Seems even his party is starting to think that writing hate into the most sacred document in the nation might be a bad thing…
Oh… And by the way.. If you want to see the results look here and if you want to read the text of the proposal itself look here.
A trip to the Islands
Since i forgot to mention this before I left (cuz I was FRANTIC getting ready to go) I’ll fill ya all in now – Kevin and I just got back from spending a week on a live aboard dive boat in the Carribean. All of the details are up on my .mac photo pages but the basic gist of it was that we flew down to the Turks and Caicos islands (just north of Haiti and the Dominican Republic) and spent a week scuba diving and hanging out in the sun. It was SUCH a great experience that i’ve been giddy to head back as soon as I can. The whole thing was aboard one of the Aggressor boats and the whole thing was really well done… Up to 5 dives a day, great food, really cool people to hang out with, and a crew that made t he whole thing great…
But since I have to head off to work now… But you can see the details on my photo page, Rick and Randy’s page, or read the captain’s log from the trip…
My Software Plugs for the week
Gotta take a second to plug my to current favorite things… First is kind of biased since a good friend of mine created the product – but even still its VERY COOL… PumpOne is this REALLY cool workout guides for your iPod. Its basically workouts that you can download to your ipod so you have workout guides at hand while you’re listening to your music at the gym. They have a bunch of different types of workouts for both men and women and all of them have the same clear easy to follow steps to walk you through what ya need to do… Check it out either directly or over at Apple’s site..
The other is just my favorite new time sync… They’ve FINALLY started supporting Plaxo on Mac OS X. as a result i’ve killed WAY too much time pestering my friends to update their contact information and cleaning out my address book. But seriously – the idea is VERY cool and its about f-ing time they made a mac version.. For those of you that don’t know, Plaxo is a web integrated service that helps you keep your address book up to date by allowing your contacts to update your address book for you. You can send email requests to your contacts which sends them to a web page where they can update their information and the next time you sync your address book with Plaxo you get the updates. But, even cooler, it also allows you to connect your address book with other Plaxo users so if any of your contacts are also plaxo members you automatically get their updates whenever they make changes without having to send a request. They definitely have some things to work out (especially when it comes to iSync) but its still very cool…
ok… enough plugging… Happy saturday..
Easter Weekend
In celebration of the resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (wow – I almost got through that without giggling) we went up to my Parents’ house in Sacramento with Matt, Brian, Audrey and Jamie. We went up Saturday morning and spent the day, night and Sunday morning up there hanging out.. It was really nice to get away and, unlike last year, the traffic up and back actually wasn’t too bad.
We got up there round lunch time on Saturday and spent the day cooking and decorating Easter eggs. Jamie came up a little later with his dog Reggie who turned out to be a great playmate for my ‘rents dog Bodie is a yellow lab puppy and went NUTS over reggie – we really couldn’t get him to calm down with reggie around – it was too funny…
Easter dinner was actually saturday night (leave it to us to re-schedule easter at a convenient time for us) and then we had strawberry cobbler and watched The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe…
This morning we got up and had breakfast and then went out to Folsom lake to run the dogs again..
Anyway – fun weekend.. now just catching up before the weekend’s over and bootcamp tomorrow AM…
More pictures are on Matt and Brian’s site..
